Reuben - Racecar Is Racecar Backwards

Racecar is Racecar Backwards is one truly awesome slice of Britsh rock. This is Reuben’s first full length album and a big favourite of mine. The number of hours this cd has spent in my cd player is astronomical.
Racecar is a rock solid album on which to build a massive fanbase. With fantastic riffs that’ll have you humming ‘em for days at a time and simple honest lyrics sung by singer Jamie Lenman who incidently has an awesome voice, they’ll leave you believing they’re nowhere near as geeky as they actually are.
The band often remind me of Silverchair circa Frogstomp but with slightly more mature lyrics and even better riffs. Throw in a blast of Foo Fighters topped with a thin slice of Deftones and we’re probably still nowhere near Reubens sound but at least we tried, right?
Also, if you get chance you should check out some of the videos on youtube, such as their recent entry for last Christmas’s singles chart Christmas is Awesome, which nearly made me wet myself, but was sadly disqualified due to some admin cockup. Bugger!
Songs to check out on this album include Freddy Kreuger, crowd pleaser Fall Of The Bastille and my personal favourite Lets Stop Hanging Out, but to be honest why stop there cos just about every song on the album is swell!
Apparently, according to my mate Wiki the album title Racecar Is Racecar Backwards came from a conversation the band had with a friend about palindromes, which for me pretty much sums Reuben up. Awesome.
