Yet another local gig I’m looking forward to, Gnod (Manchester) will be playing The Yorkshire House, Lancaster on the 14th. Describing them is a little difficult but lets give it a shot anyway…

According to Gnod’s Myspazz page, Gnod are any of the following:

1. Men of the oak trees travelling cosmically together through time.

2. Pre-lingual humanoids attempting to communicate to their makers by way of drones and rhythm.

3. Burned out post-apocalyptic freaks lamenting the golden era of their culture though their scarred neuro-synapses.

4. Some fucked up dudes playing some hot shit.

Now personally I’m torn between 3 and 4.

Gnod sport an extensive list of members past, present and future so Friday should prove intense given the dark ambient nature of their music. Fans of Capulet, Isis and Cult of Luna (especially Cult of Luna) will love this shit, give a listen to Bulletproof Awareness parts one and two. Awesome!

Hot Bone are heading the line up, who sound similar in my opinion to That Fucking Tank. Which can’t really be considered a bad thing when all is said and done now eh, lad?

Plus Arficeden (Manchester) and Electric Free Time Machine (Lancaster) will also be providing more ambient free flowing post rock goodness to the show. Good times!
